Here's exactly how to handle negative YouTube comments

I've been posting stuff on the internet for 16 years. When you post good stuff, people tend to see it.

Part of this gig is you will get negative comments. It's just simple math.

So, here's how to handle negative comments, in a step-by-step fashion.

Step 1 - Don't Take The Bait

Every day for 16 years, there's a couple negative comments in my inbox. I just grabbed a random one...today's is rather tame.

16 years ago, I took every negative comment SO personally. Today I see them for what they are. Bait.

Know that 100% of negative comments are nothing more than bait. This is an unhappy stranger you'll never meet wanting to get you onto their fishing line.

This is BAIT. Don't take it.

Sometimes the bait is very very tempting. Sometimes you can use the bait and make it a teachable moment for all parties involved. I'll admit, I've taken the bait a few times in my 16 years.

But as a rule, DO NOT TAKE THE BAIT.

Step 2 - Block & Delete *poof*

This is all you need to remember.

Step 3 - Not my job. Not my problem.

Your only job is to help the people who WANT your help...and to make it easy for those people to find you.

It's not your job mud wrestle with strangers who don't like you 😎. It's also not your job to get those people to "like" you.

Any issue they might have is THEIR problem. Not yours. 💃
