During a Black Friday in 2015, I logged in to check my sales....and the number staring back at me was big. I made more in that ONE day than I would typically make during months of personal training.

Do you know what I felt looking at that giant sales number? It wasn't utter joy and bliss. It wasn't a feeling of "finally making it".....

I Felt a Deep Despair. Yeah...I know...very weird.

It was one of the greatest and worst moments of my life. It was a true turning point and happened not long before my spiritual awakening and health crisis.

When I started doing online business, I was a scrappy little yard dog who loved fitness, and who grew up on ramen noodles in Chicago. My mom was amazing, but money was always scarce. Money stayed scarce for most of my life.

I swore up and down that one day when I made XYZ amount of money, I would finally know what true freedom and safety felt like. I would know what deep joy felt like.

Enter that fateful Black Friday sale. The dream of "one day I will arrive at the promised land" crumbled right before my eyes. Here it was. An undeniably HUGE amount of money staring me right in the face, and yet....no joy, no peace, no "arrival".

I didn't sleep at all that night....something far too big was revealing itself to me. Something magnificent and terrifying all at the same time.

After some time, I came to the ultimate truth and the choice to end all other choices.

Joy is a choice I must make.
Peace is a choice I must make.
Freedom is a choice I must make.

There is nothing "out there" that can do this for me.
There is no amount of money that can do this for me.
There is no person who can do this for me.

There is no achievement that will do this for me.​

​Joy & Peace are a choice I must make.

I'm a very slow learner, and didn't really grasp this truth until AFTER my spiritual awakening in 2016. And if I'm being honest, I STILL forget this from time to time (such is the nature of being a human with an ego!).

But I remember this truth and choice most days, and the results have been astounding. The results you'll experience in your life after making this choice will be astounding too.

How This Choice Impacts Your Business

Making this choice will actually grow your business faster than any strategy or gimmick. When you actively choose to live in joy and peace, then you won't be relying on your business or profits to fill you up.

Can you imagine the impact your work will have on the world when you're ALREADY peaceful and joyful?
​Can you imagine how sincere you sound when you literally don't "need" the sales?
​Can you imagine the trust your people will feel with you when you are showing up without needing them to "like" you?

It is the ultimate a jedi mind trick.

How to Make This Choice

Don't let the ego overcomplicate this. This choice is the most simple act you will ever do.

Every day, when you wake up, you make a conscious effort to simply re-member that GOD/LOVE is the source of joy in your life. When your mind wants to take you for a ride into "I know I know....but if ONLY I had this one thing I wouldn't feel miserable/stressed/frustrated."...notice that thought, thank it, and choose joy.

To be clear, you should never suppress your emotions. Feel them! ​
You should never deny what you want. Wanting things is fine!​

​But also don't let your ego fool you into creating a laundry list of reasons you're "not allowed" to feel total joy yet. That list will NEVER end. It's a carrot at the end of the stick you could spend your entire life chasing.

Our sales will ebb and flow. The work will ebb and flow. The successes and failures will ebb and flow.

And as the rushing river of life's surprises unfold before you, you will CHOOSE to be anchored in the one and only thing that cannot and will not change.

Because when you CHOOSE joy now, you're actually choosing Love/ God/ EternallyLovingCreatorThatCannotBeNamed
